1.2.7 release date?

Hello,

I would like to know when is planned the future SDL version. There have
been a lot of work done since the 1.2.6 release (also counting my work
:-)).–

According to one of Sam’s latest posts, it will be soon

Please let me know ASAP if that works, since I’m gearing up for SDL 1.2.7

I guess the new version will be out in about a week.

I know what I’m saying now, some people would hate me, but it would be
very nice if it could be possible to make a little change in last minute:

Could one of the SDL lib developper please add a fonction to get the
maximal resolution and bpp of the current screen resolution?

My picture viewer program is currently only compatible with X11,
because I use X11 routines to do this stuff.

I saw you have already a fonction that gets video informations
like as: SDL_VideoInfo *SDL_GetVideoInfo(void);

Could you pleae add this informations in the SDL_VideoInfo ?:

Uint32 w; /* screen weight of screen (windowed or fullscreen) /
Uint32 h; /
screen height of screen (windowed or fullscreen) /
Uint32 bpp; /
bits per pixel of screen */

So when I switch in window / fullscreen mode, this informations must be
updated automatically.

It would be very nice if someone could add this in the library code
for the next version, so for example my program Picture Viewer could
also be used in the console mode (not only depended of X11 server). On Sat, Feb 14, 2004 at 11:21:29AM +0100, Patrice Mandin wrote:

How is that different from what SDL_ListModes() does now?

Yep. I’m waiting on a couple of issues with GL function addresses and
SIGPIPE in audio daemon detection, but as soon as those are resolved,
I’m putting out the SDL 1.2.7 release. I already have MacOS X and Windows
binary packages ready to go.

See ya!

This will be added to SDL 1.3

  1. the top level configure script detects correctly if OpenGL
    (include+libs) are ok or not.
  2. SDL_opengl.h is installed whether (1) gives yes or no.
  3. the configure script in test checks for SDL_opengl.h if it can compile
    OpenGL test program.

So either in step 2 or 3, something is not done correctly. Currently I
don’t have OpenGL on my target, but SDL_opengl.h is installed, and the
testgl program wants to be compiled.

It is not a showstopper bug, so it could wait for the next version to be
fixed.–
