2d with OpenGL (was Re: Wish List)

Maybe the least painful thing to do would be to write up a set of
functions that operate like the SDL_Blit/Update family that when
updated they just blit the surface as a texture on an orthoganally
mapped quad using the coordinates passed in the SDL_Blit* functions.
(Something like SDL_GL_BlitSurface or SDL_BlitSurfaceGL). Forgive me
if my ignorance of OpenGL is showing, I’ve only glanced a few
tutorials so far, my VooDoo 3 card is only two weeks old. If now one
else does anything along these lines whithin the next few weeks I may
pick up on it myself.
