Does SDL’s audio library support 3D audio as for its latest version? Or, will it
be available with version 1.3?
How good is OpenAL as far as Windows and Linux go? Where can I find a
precompiled version for Windows in the form of DLL’s and for Linux in the form
of .so (shared lib’s). Most versions for linux come in the form of source and
compiling or making them is at the moment difficult for me.
Why can’t SDL just connect to OpenAL like it does with OpenGL? This way it can
provide the libraries for OpenAL as part of their distribution precompiled!!

Because OpenAL is really not for 2d audio AFAIK, it’s really designed for 3d
audio…
I could be horribly wrong (gee, that’d be surprising), but i’m pretty sure
