About SDL 1.3 and MessageBoxes

Two Questions:

  1. Would it be likely to put some sort of MessageBox mechanism in SDL 1.3?

  2. I’m currently using SDL 1.2.12. What would be the best way to make my own
    cross platform way of doing a messagebox to prompt the user if something’s been
    fudged in the program initialization?
