"aliens" on MacOS/PPC

Okay, thanks to all the work of everybody involved in the Mac port,
the first game-like demo using SDL on MacOS is now available:

Aliens:

http://www.devolution.com/~slouken/SDL/cvs/macos/SDL.hqx
http://www.devolution.com/~slouken/SDL/cvs/macos/data.zip

The first thing people will notice is the very choppy gameplay.
This is due to the OS processing overhead that occurs during WaitNextEvent().
Sugggestions are welcome.

Also, the audio is not fully tested, and the game will not work on 8-bit
displays.

The ports of the SDL_image and SDL_mixer libraries to MacOS will be released
sometime next week.

See ya!

Wasn’t choppy for me. Very smooth, in fact. I am using OS 9 here on a G3/233> From: Sam Lantinga

I played it again today, and it was very smooth.
Maybe running Internet Explorer in the background has something to do with it.

Heh, IE reeks havoc on foreground apps. I use Netscape here, its a little
better about that (At least it doesn’t bother me like IE did).On Mon, 7 Feb 2000, Sam Lantinga wrote:
