Hi, I just wanted to send out a quick informal e-mail to the list. I’m
new to the list but I’ve been seeing what appear to be a lot of newbie
questions. So, I thought I’d mention a great book I just finished
reading called Focus on SDL by Ernest Pazera. This is a great
introduction to the SDL library. It is well written and organized, and
has a CD with code examples. I’ve read maybe 3 or 4 books on the
subject, and so far this is the best I’ve read. It answers many of
the questions I’ve been seeing here on the list.
There are a ridiculously large number of the books being sold used on Amazon.com, and the asking prices are not bad.

For SDL newbies “Programming Linux Games” by John Hall is really great :
There are many good gudes an sources in internet.
Why spend money?
Some people prefer books, some prefer the
basic information.
I tend to copy and paste online documentation into a document, format
it, page it a bit, print it and bind it for those odd moments in the day
when I have some free time.
