Building SDL for BeOS

Anyone have a good HOWTO (or a reference to a mailing list posting) for
building/using SDL on BeOS?

Specific trouble:
I’ve got the OS installed, I unzipped the devtools into /boot, and I could
build SDL from the 1.2.3 tarball. Make install ran great.

I can’t get configure to succeed in the “test” directory, saying that it
can’t link SDL in. Generally I suspect that I need something comparable to
an entry in /etc/ld.so.conf, but lord knows how one does that under BeOS.

It’s so much like Unix…and yet…

Also, I completely failed to get autoconf, automake, etc to install from
the pure GNU sources, which means I can’t use the CVS version of SDL. Any
thoughts for getting this done?

Thanks,
–ryan.

well…I have no big experience in managing a project from the command
line, I do it only when I really have to ;), but have you tried using
BeIDE? all you have to do is drag and drop your project files onto the
project window & each file’s path is added for you. That’s what I do
and I find it pretty handy, although it might be a little tedious in
your situation ( creating a project for each test file ). Anyway, these
are my two cents…

hope this helps,
