Can't get SDL_mixer to play mp3 files

Hello,

I’ve been trying to get mp3 support with SDL_mixer but it keeps telling
me: module format not recognized.

I’ve compiled the sdl, smpeg and sdl_mixer libs. Is their something I
might have overlooked? Do i need special ./configure options? Including
special header files? Linking special libs?

Any help is very much appreciated,

Have you recompiled SDL after you’ve compiled the smpeg library?
have you enable it in SDL ./configure ?
