Compiling/using SDL_image and SDL_mixer under Win32

I’ve got this sneaking suspicion there’s an obvious answer to this that
I’m just overlooking, but here goes… how would I compile and use
SDL_image and SDL_mixer (or any other of the extra libraries) for use in
Dev-C++ in Win32? Or can I get the VC6-compiled libraries to work with
Dev-C++? I can get the libraries going easily under Linux, but I’m
fairly clueless in Windows.

I’ve got SDL working right in Dev-C++, so that’s not a problem.–

You can use the dll’s availabel on www.libsdl.org for Win32! Just make
sure that the dll files are availabel (copy them to the directory of
your project or the system32 folder. I think their is a posibility to
specify additional dll paths in the registry) and add all libraries
(*.lib) to your project. In addition you have to ensure that all include
files are visible to youre project…

Feel free to contact me if you have more specific questions.

Nicholas,

Do you can compile using Cygwin. Cygwin is a Linux environment under Win32.
With cygwin do you can run makefiles to build your libraries.
