Compiling with mingw on windows

Hey, trying to compile with mingw on windows and I get this error.

*** No rule to make target ‘/usr/X11R6/include/X11/Xlib.h’, needed by build/SDL_compat.lo’

I tried disabling X11 in the configure settings, but no worky. I don’t need the compat layer so if I can just disable that entirely I wouldn’t mind. Any ideas? Also trying to compile in codeblocks was a total nightmare.

I second this. It has been months since I joined this mailing list and I’m still
waiting for someone to give a few hints on how to compile on windows. That is to
say, I’m unable to compile and also unable to help.________________________________

Subject: [SDL] compiling with mingw on windows

Also trying to compile in codeblocks was a total nightmare.

I had much better luck cross-compiling SDL from Linux to Windows using
mingw-cross-env:

http://www.nongnu.org/mingw-cross-env

But of course that would assume you’re mainly using Linux though. On 06/23/2011 11:31 AM, eclectocrat wrote:

Thanks for the link. Looks like it’ll work for OSX, so I’ve got my fingers crossed.
