Custom Bitmap Mouse Cursors

Is this possible with SDL or is this a particular library in OpenGL that handles
custom mouse cursors… perhaps maybe even animated mouse cursors. anyone have
this info?

With SDL you can hide the mouse cursor and blit an image on top of the x.y
mouse coordinates to get a colored/animated cursor. There also is another
way to customize the cursor thats built in but if I remember correctly, you
are limited to black and white. Not sure about OpenGL…On Wed, Aug 6, 2008 at 12:24 PM, Armond Sarkisian < armond.sarkisian at gmail.com> wrote:

do you recall what the name of the function was that blitted the bitmap on top
of the mouse’s x and y?

Hello !

do you recall what the name of the function was that blitted the
bitmap on top
of the mouse’s x and y?

If i recall correctly there is no special function for
that. You have to get the x and y mouse position and then simply
do a SDL_BlitSurface with your color cursor as the last thing
before you call SDL_Flip or SDL_UpdateScreen.

Yep, thats exactly how to do it.

This is the other way for black and white cursor
