Debian SDL build?

Hi man!

Can you tell me someone what is the workflow to have other project
configure.in unchanged and building SDL from the CVS snap?

I have the RH Linux and I’m trying to compile the SDL CVS via make
install. The problem is that I have to have no SDL.rpm installed before to
let the other apps use the /usr/local/bin/SDL* versions (the .rpm installs
into the /usr/bin). The only way I found is to make rpm & rpm -Uvh SDL*.
But my friends, having the Debian Linux, couldn’t do make rpm. So how
should they compile the CVS & use the compiled package without changing
the configure.in of other projects… (the autoconf says that the
AM_PATH_SDL(1.2.0, ) macro is not defined when I don’t have the .rpm
installed).

thanks in advance

STan

I’m not really certain what your question is, but the CVS snapshot of SDL
should compile fine under Debian, provided you have all the necessary
dependencies.

Or, they could always get the latest version of SDL here:
