DirectX 8 retrace problem likely not libSDL-related

I ran a pure DirectX 5 program (i.e. no libSDL)
intended to demonstrate page flipping under
Win2K and it showed the same tearing symptoms
that testsprite.exe did. It also worked fine under
WinME.

I guess this is a problem with either DirectX 8/Win2K
or my drivers then. Still this raises an issue -
should libSDL move towards supporting more recent
DirectX interfaces?
