Drawing relative to the screen with opengl

Hello, SDL for OpenGL programming is simply amazing an simply simple.

My question is this: Is there any way to use OpenGL to render realtive to
the screen (such as a HUD display, or the like)?

Could you also mail responses to mik at dogansmoobs.NOSPAM.com as I don’t have
access to a news server from everywhere I check my mail. Thank you.–

Hey! Are you pulling our legs here?

Seriously, we were just discussing 2D blitting over OpenGL screens (for
the 4565465’th time), which is very closely related to this.

Anyway, glOrtho() will do what you want - you should know the rest if
you’re using OpenGL.

As noted, this mechanism is used by Quake and it’s worth pointing out
that the method is virtually unchanged in Q3A. Optimization is possible
but purely academic. You won’t see 1% performance gain for doing a
whole lot of extra math.On Mon, Oct 15, 2001 at 09:15:14PM -0400, Mik Mifflin wrote:
