For anyone who’s interested, a new version of fnkdat is available.
In a nutshell, fnkdat is a single C function that allows you to get common
directory names (i.e. user’s application specific data dir, application
data dir, etc…) under windows and unix. It’s (now) implemented as a C
header+source file – fnkdat.h and fnkdat.c – which are both released
under the GPL w/ a blanket exception allowing them to be statically
linked to both free and commercial software (similar to GUILE).
