In FreeBSD 5.1, I compile SDLGears ok, but get the following runtime error:
$ ./SDLgears
Xlib: extension “GLX” missing on display “:0.0”.
Xlib: extension “GLX” missing on display “:0.0”.
Couldn’t set 300x300 GL video mode: Couldn’t find matching GLX visual
GL is supposed to fallback on software rendering if no HW support was
available, no?

Does your XF86Config have ‘Load “glx”’ enabled (ie: not #commented out)under
the “Module” Section?
