Fullscreen problems in SDL 1.1.4 (linux)

Since I upgraded to SDL 1.1.4 and smpeg 4.0, playing videos fullscreen
has some strange problems
that were absent in previous versions (think I used smpeg 3.5 and SDL
1.1.2 before).
When I start plaympeg I get:
Xlib: extension “XVideo” missing on display “:0.0”.
Xlib: extension “XVideo” missing on display “:0.0”.
Xlib: extension “XVideo” missing on display “:0.0”.

The video appears to play normally, but when playing fullscreen it does
not scale to the whole screen
but plays the video at the same resolution (rest of screen goes black).
I really did add the required
modlines and they are also available (from xdm-error.log:

() SVGA: Mode “800x600”: mode clock = 69.650
(
) SVGA: Mode “640x480”: mode clock = 45.800
() SVGA: Mode “320x240”: mode clock = 15.750
(
) SVGA: Mode “400x300”: mode clock = 25.000

The video was 320*240)

When I press escape the videos continue playing, but 2 times escape
drops out of fullscreen with a segfault
(SDL parachute deployed).

Did anyone else experience these problems? Are there solutions?
Oh, I use XFree 3.3.6 with (UtahGLX for my G200)

Bye
