GSoC project reporting in for the last time

Hello SDL community!

The Google Summer of Code project call
ed “SDL Test Coverage” is over. The soft pencil down date was on last
Monday. During the project I built a test harness for executing tests
against SDL. Some features of the harness are logging (plain text and XML),
elementary fuzzing and option to execute test case in their own process to
mention a few. The harness is rather mature at its current state. There’s
currently 42 test cases implemented.

During the last sprint I’ve concentrated on fixing problems and bugs and
extending the fuzzer. I also ported a couple of test suites from the old
automated tests.

Some tasks had to be left for the future such as doing a Windows port and
writing even more tests. That being said if there’s anyone interested in
trying out the harness, writing a couple of test cases, validating usage
guidelines or whatever tickles your fancy, feel free to do it.

Hi

Great stuff! Testing is so often one of those neglected tasks, and
working on it is frequently thankless.

Kudos to you for taking this on.

Cheers,
