Hardware MIDI in SDL_mixer

Has anyone done any work on adding Hardware MIDI support to SDL_mixer?
and would there be any objections to doing so? that way it would not
require those huge patch files and would provide beter midi music.

That would be really cool! If you want a start, look at the audio code
in our source at exult.sourceforge.net; a couple developers have been
working on getting hardware Midi for both Win32 and Linux.

I’d really like to see this happen, but i’m unskilled in music programming
of any sort. However, I do know c++ so if I can help out, let me know how.>From: Sam Lantinga
