Help: Loss of video (Windows)

I have a callback from a video decoder that presents frames to SDL_RenderCopy

Everything works perfect, until I hit CTRL+ALT+DEL. SDL_RenderCopy / SDL_RenderPresent no longer renders any frames at all.

The same can be seen in testSprite2.exe from the SDL source.

Is there any work around for this?------------------------

Can anyone confirm or deny this behaviour?------------------------

I’m not in to current SDL versions (had been some time ago I used it),
but this looks like a “standard” device loss to me. When SDL is using
DirectX-HAL on Windows, this is the expected behavior. Using pure DX9
e.g. this would require one to call TestCooperativeLevel() and
subsequently Reset() on the device. Back in the days I’ve been working
with SDL the only way I knew to overcome this issue was to re-initiate
SDL-Video…

But maybe this can be handled otherwise today?

After much testing I found out that pressing CTRL+ALT+DEL while using windows7 and running something that uses SDL2.0 for rendering makes SDL_SetTextureAlphaMod visually not affect the resulting alpha values for the given texture.

Why does this happen?
Could it be the same issue you are experiencing?

Can you check the latest SDL snapshot?

I believe this bug was fixed after 2.0 shipped. On Tue, Aug 20, 2013 at 9:59 AM, Jay Freeman wrote:
