How about an annual SDL competition

Hi Sam et al,
Is there any chance that there will be an SDL competition this year?
Maybe a themed competition that allows 2D or 3D, where the entrants need
to submit a completed game after say 3 or 4 months.

I recently held one ( a competition ) that restricted the entrants to
using Pascal and that the source had to submitted. Even though we only
got 10 entries, 3 of the top 6 games used SDL. The competition page and
the entries can be found @

The prizes don’t have to be that extravagant, as most people compete
just to give something back to the community and it will also lift the
profile of SDL once more, if as many people enter this competition as
the last one that was held a couple of years ago.
I am willing to offer a copy of “Game Programming Gems: v. 5” as one of
the prizes.

Actually it should be an annual event :).

Anyway just a thought,

Dominique Louis
