How are this list and the SDL Development forum related?

Does the SDL mailing list exactly mirror the SDL Development forum? I notice
that a message I posted to the list was added to the forum as well and it was
a bit embarassing because it posted to the forum with just the first part of
my email address as the username: “eris-sdl”. It makes it look like I’m
pretending to be officially associated with the SDL project, when really I
just create a unique email address for every website and mailing list I’m on.
