In need of advice

Ive been searching for a cross-platform library that will enable me to play
audio files. SDL sounds like a good option however ive looked through the api
and found nothing relating to tempo adjustment of particular sound buffers. I
was wondering whether this is possible using SDL, if not, could you please
redirect me to a library that provides this feature.

im not sure, but did you look at SDL_Mixer? I dont know the URL to check it
out but look on the SDL page to see if you can find it.

PS my real name is also Alan, i found out from a person who studies origins
of names that Alan is the only correct first name spelling and that Alen,
