In latest hg.
Hi,
Can we just include this file in hg?
It seems to catch most people trying to build from hg - and a message
appears on the mailing list about it every few days.

No, it’s the chicken and the egg. It contains the current hg revision, and
checking it in changes the current hg revision. :)On Mon, Jan 24, 2011 at 10:27 AM, Ren? Dudfield wrote:

Hi,
An alternative might be to have the file in there with a static prerelease
version rather than that hg branch’s version.
That way it doesn’t break builds for people checking it out of the vcs, and
the only problem is they don’t have the actual version built in.

If you do that, then every change to SDL_revision.h gets marked as a
revision by Mercurial. On Tue, Jan 25, 2011 at 8:55 AM, Ren? Dudfield wrote:

Mercurial must have a way to script it with a ‘virtual’ file so it is
autogenerated. Or at least I guess it has ;-)On Mon, Jan 24, 2011 at 9:14 PM, Sam Lantinga wrote:

My the way. It should be much better to have a .template file in there
(with a comment) so it’s easily noticeable, if the 'autogenerated’
idea doesn’t do it.On Tue, Jan 25, 2011 at 10:17 PM, Michael Menegakis <@Michael_Menegakis> wrote:
