Install problem : from SDL 1.1 to SDL 1.2

Hello,

I have Linux Mandrake 7.2 (kernel 2.2.17).

I would like to install SDL 1.2 but for this I have to remove SDL 1.1.4 and
SDL-devel.
How can I do this carefully without making the system crash ?

I am sorry to write to this mailing-list but I have found nothing in the FAQ
and the mailing list archives.–

No you can keep your old 1.1.4, and simply install on the new one, as
a soft link (ln -s) as been made to libsdl.so, any new installed modules
will be call de by the same name as the previous one.

try in the shell:
ls -s /usr/lib/libSDL*

you will see.
Jocelyn.

Get both the SDL 1.2.2 and SDL-devel 1.2.2 RPM files, then do:
rpm -Uhv --nodeps SDL1.2.2.rpm
