Instant crash when trying to go fullscreen

Hi guys!

Where can I start looking for the problem if an attempt to se fullscreen mode
crashes? (Sigsegv with SDL “parachute”)

I am working on a Rh 7.3 Linux system, with SDL-1.2.6. I have a Nvidia
GeForce4 MX 440 based card, with the newest Nvidia X Windows drivers I could
find.

I am suspecting something is wrong with my X Windows installation - DGA? How
can I check my X Windows installation? Do I need something special in my
XF86Config?

Thanks!–

The NVidia X Windows drivers need a more recent
version of XFree86 than is installed by default on 7.3
I believe. Try upgrading and see if that helps.

(I’m assuming this crashes your system:)

#include <SDL/SDL.h>
int main ( int argc , char ** argv )
{
printf( “init video…\n\r” );
SDL_Init( SDL_INIT_VIDEO );
printf( “OK\n\rinit video mode…\n\r”);
SDL_SetVideoMode( 640 , 480 , 24 , SDL_FULLSCREEN );
printf( “OK\n\r” );
SDL_Quit();
}
