Java compatibilty layer with SDL

A little while back I had almost completely implemented a compatibility layer
for SDL on Java. After I had done that I saw someone else had done the
samething but I do think my version is easier to use???

I have not implemented:
Joystick
Audio
Joystick
CD-ROM
OpenGL Support
Cursor support
A few video function: Gamma, Palette, Colors, UpdateRects, ListMode
YUVOverlay

I have support for:
SDL_ttf
SDL_image
SDL_gfx
SDL:
General
Video
Window Management
Events
Threads (Must use Java, not SDL)
Time
+ Put- and SetPixel

If anyone is interested in the source code, to maintain or just to look at,
please e-mail me directly. There is a demo that covers just about everything
implemented. Size: 255kb tar.bz2. I am willing to help with the
maintainance of the code if anyone thinks it will be worth developing.

It is released under the GPL

Thanks
David

Why not join effort with the SDLJava project?
They are already supporting 100% SDL and starting
to support OpenGL as well.

My version does things slightly different and it doesn’t use a glue library.
It might be faster but nothing noticeable, a good example of the difference
is the way events are handled. It also intergrates SDL_gfx into the
SDLSurface class, the only disadvantage of this is that the library has to
present event if the methods are not used.

It is a fledgling compared to sdljava. If it does things sufficiently
different to sdljava and there it is a need for it then I will continue to
support it else my project goes back into the closet. If sdljava can learn
anything from my little project then more the better however I will not be
contributing anything to sdljava (unless they take anything from my project)
because I intend to create an interface for python (if pygame doesn’t do what
I want(which it probably doesn’t))

Thanks for your comment, I wish the best for SDLJava
