Just found sdltutorials.com

This is a killer site! Just wanted to share the excitement.

I have been working with libgdx and Java trying to get an idea about
what it’s going to take to do my 2d rpg game idea for Android. libgdx
seems to be the top android game framework right now and the author
has a big-selling book on android game development which I bought. At
first I was super excited but more and more I dig into the framework
and it seems like I’m doing a lot of setup work… plus I more or less
hate Java.

Anyway off to become best friends, I hope, with this Sdl tutorials
site. You guys might want to put it up more prominently on the libsdl
site cause it’s buried a bit in links (although it is the top link)
… but maybe a front-page link for beginners.

sdltutorials.com ftw!–

Yes SDLTutorials.com is an awesome site, so is Lazy Foo and Johnny D’s Blue Dino Code. Here is another that I found useful that is kind of tucked away: http://gameprogrammingtutorials.blogspot.com/2010/01/sdl-tutorial-series-part-5-dealing-with.html
