Keyboard failure without mouse

Hi,

I don’t think this is an SDL problem but I thought someone here may have had
the problem before (and I am using SDL  …

I’m using SDL-1.2.3 on a system with Xfree86-4.2.0 (same problem in 4.0.3)
without a window manager. My application starts up and runs full screen with
all input coming from the PS/2 keyboard (no mouse). The problem is that if I
start X without the PS/2 mouse connected (with AllowMouseOpenFail as an
option so it starts) the keyboard stops working! Even ctrl+alt+back won’t
make it respond…Restarting with the mouse connected fixes everything! (and
no, I can’t run using the mouse

I’m really stuck on this one and would appreciate even a little help with
this…can anyone help?

Paul.

Hi,

I saw your post from the new group and I happen to
get the same problem.

Did you solve this problem ?
If yes, could you tell me how tol solve this problem ?

Thanks.

Kevin,

I have not been able to spend enough time looking into this to solve the
problem…it has bugged me for a long time  My only suggested work
around is to use a USB keyboard. This has been the only way I have been able
to get the keyboard to work.

I did notice that X-4.3.0 has fixes relating to the PS/2 driver so this may
be “fixed” now. It may also be some configuration problem.
