LD_LIBRARY_PATH help

Hi all, where do i configure this env path?
My problem is the i just install SDL 1.0.8 and when i try to generate
examples the linker says me about this path.
(/SDL…/test/.configure fails)

thanx , is my first time with SDL!!

Can you post an error message?
Did you run ldconfig as root after you installed SDL?
Do you have the problem with SDL 1.1?
