Libgpm

Hi folks,

lately we had a talk about the gpm support and using libgpm.
There were concerns about libgpm being under GPL conflicting
SDL’s license.

I’ve asked the gpm folks whether to release it under LGPL
and there was no one against it.

So using libgpm instead of redundantly writing our own gpm
support code shouldn’t be an licensing problem anymore.

This is good news…is there somewhere this is documented (their
website, they’re changing the COPYING file in the distro, etc)?

the main author of gpm has no problems changing the license (see the gpm
mailing list), however there’s the small matter of making sure all copyright
holders are not against it either

at any rate, i dont see a new version of gpm being released anytime soon …
