Library on sdl for ipod's like gui, some hints?

Hi folks, i need to make a gui like the ipod’s gui, i dont have any
experience with GUI development, library and so.
could anybody give me a hint? is sdl a correct choice for make a gui
like this?
is there some “over sdl library” that make me the life more easy?
my apology for the generic question, but i have a very lack of
experience in this field.

Well in simple terms you draw stuff, and then respond to events.

It can certainly do what you want.

Yes, there are some widget libraries already made for SDL. See
