Best Regards

I believe that SDL uses whatever implementation of OpenGL that happens
to be around.

Which means: if your system has Mesa installed as OpenGL
implementation (many linux distros have mesa libs readily packaged),
SDL would use that.

Mesa implements generic OpenGL API, thus it doesn’t require special support.

Armin,

If I understand your question correctly, you want OpenGL/Mesa3d commands to run
on top of SDL, rather than SDL running on top of OpenGL/Mesa3d. Am I correct?

The only such thing I know of is TinySDGL. It can be found in the Library
section of the SDL website. It’s described as “TinySDGL - a port of TinyGL, a
graphics API similar to OpenGL, to SDL” It can be found at:

http://www.kyb.tuebingen.mpg.de/bu/people/gf/software/

Since Mesa3d is a software version of OpenGL, the commands should be the same or
else similar.

Hi Armin,

Do you want perhaps a similar function to GLX_EXT_texture_from_pixmap ?
