Hi,
Well I’ve downloaded SDL_mixer but well i have to download also Timidity …
14Mo !!!
I only have a 56K modem !
Well it’s not a problem under Linux as i already get it but under windows
it’s not the case !
So I wonder why under Windows SDL_miwer doesn’t use DirectX in order to play
midi files ? It would be much easier for the users !++
Lawouach
PS I get a trouble with SDLK_x where x is a digit from 0 to 9, under Linux
… the problem is it doesn’t workd at all ! I mean i can compile but
diuring the game it won’t do nothing ! Even if i press on the shift key at
the same time ! It’s strange as the SDL_AMPERSAND which is situated on the
same key as my key 1, works really fine …
My keyboard is an azerty one !
Do I forget something, or do I have to activate the Unicode ?
Help
I also hav this problem, i haven’t been able to play midi usign SDL under
Windows (2000 in my case)

Ok, it seems like I have to take some time on the weekend to implement
hardware midi. I can do it only for windows though. I can’t promise that
I find time to do it, but if I find the time, I will do it.

That would be nice to have for SDL_mixer - an option to use hardware midi
instead of timidity. Somebody was talking about that many months ago, but
I never saw anything.
See ya!

Exult uses the ‘libkmid’ package for hardware Midi under Linux. You
might look into using that, as the interface is quite simple, and it’s
(I think) LGPL.

That was me
But I finally got something together. It’s in the thread “SDL_mixer
native midi for windows”.
