MPEG size/resolution

hello,

Using RH 7.2

Not sure if this is for this list or not…does an mpeg utilizing
sdl for playback “HAVE” to be 320x240? We encoded one at 640x480 to play
back at 640x480 thinking it would be much “sharper” than using 320x240.
Could not get it to play…

Also, what kind of interpolation is used…binlinear isn’t it? Same
.mpg looks much better playing back on a mac at double size than on
Linux box (olcer mac, newer “faster” Linux box). Is it the
interpolation?

Thanks in advance

I’m fairly certain it does not.

I’ve used “plaympeg”, the demo app. that comes with the SMPEG library,
to play many various sizes and shapes of MPEGs.

In fact, you can resize the window in the latest versions, and it will
scale the MPEG on-the-fly, even at strange aspect ratios (I believe!)
