MS V++ 6.0 Profiler woes

Eeek. I’ve been trying to run Microsoft’s profiler on my sdl project, and
it dies with a:

The exception unknown software exception (0x00000fd) occured in the
application at location 0x77f17cd6

I was wondering if anyone has had a succesful experience using the profiler

I've had no problems profiling it.
