MSVC support

Hi there…

I’d just like to say that I just tried SDL 0.9.6 with MSVC 5, and it’s
still as arcane as ever. MSVC refuses to even recognise the .dsw project
file as a project file (are other files needed?), and after about half
an hour of fiddling I was still having problems making it build. In the
end I just gave up and downloaded the DLLs. Hmm… MSVC support needs
some work…

sorry (I didn’t check if that works…)
Again, sorry for replying late (I was in our no-more German captial Bonn)…
The problem is that the project files which are actually text files
have been converted to unix style (no ‘\r’ I think) so DevStudio doesn’t
recognize them… I’ve sent Sam the correct zip file and it will probably
be included in the next snapshot/release…
Note that the project file can’t be used to build the DLL (which is
possible,
too but not very useful as for example inline assembler would have to be
conveted to MS style…) but only the small lib used to stub the DLL.
The DLL is needed, too.

BTW, has anyone had problems with MSVC and multithreaded c
libraries? Can libraries created with single-threaded libs be used in
multi-threaded-c-lib programs, too? (they should, shouldn’t they?)

and downloaded the DLLs.
Did that work with VC? (hopefully) I’d like to know if anyone has
actually was successful with the VC lib.~
