No cursor with hardware directx fullscreen

SDL is not showing any cursor when running under directx with a
fullscreen and hardware surface. i hear this is somewhat expected,
but is it a bug or a limitation in directx?

i thought SDL had some internal software to draw a cursor when
a video mode wasn’t supported, can that at all be wired into
the directx video in this case?

anyways, the problem works on any program, but i’ve included
minimal code, just in case. thanks
