Nothing happens

I have a game that I decided to try to compile under windows (I originally wrote it for Linux). After fooling around with Cygwin for a while, I finally got it to compile. Now when I try to start up the game, nothing happens. I just get my bash prompt back. No errors or anything. I even put int a print statement the first thing in main, and nothing shows up. What could be happening?

Well, I see now, that cygwin creates a stdout.txt and stderr.txt. So that’s why I didn’t see any output. Now I just have to figure out why it’s crashing.> I have a game that I decided to try to compile under windows (I originally wrote it for Linux). It looks like TTF_Init is crashing. When I compiled SDL_ttf I got this msg:

*** Warning: This library needs some functionality provided by -lmingw32.
*** I have the capability to make that library automatically link in when
*** you link to this library. But I can only do this if you have a
*** shared version of the library, which you do not appear to have.
*** The inter-library dependencies that have been dropped here will be
*** automatically added whenever a program is linked with this library
*** or is declared to -dlopen it.

I’m not sure if that is the problem or even related to it. TTF_Init crashes right as it’s calling: FT_Init_FreeType(). I’m assuming this is defined in the freetype library? I have libfreetype.dll installed, but I’m not sure if there is something that I’m missing. Any ideas?

(I’ll try not to answer my own email this time :)> Well, I see now, that cygwin creates a stdout.txt and stderr.txt. So that’s why I didn’t see any output. Now I just have to figure out why it’s crashing.

try checking if there’s a file called “stdout.txt” created in your working
directory. By default you may have created a windowed program
(not a console-based one)
