[OT] - Best Software License For FOSS Open Source?

Hi,

We are preparing to release “Retail2” of our SDL2 puzzle game before Christmas 2017.
We want to the source code to be 100% FOSS open source.
What software license do you recommend?
Previous live version was GPLv3 and the people in SDL IRC chatroom said GPL is bad.
Thanks!

Jesse

Websites with licensing suggestions:

Everyone has their opinion on which license is best, so, you should decide for your self.
Note that SDL 2 uses the zlib license.
GPL is not bad, however, if you want people to be able to add proprietary extensions or to embed in a proprietary program, LGPL will let you do that while keeping the requirement that all distributed modifications to the original source must be open source, see the license text for details.
