SDL ?

or is there any other way to get it running under linux ?
(wine doesn’t work … please, please, NOT vmware …)

Better work on Wine to make it run, unless there is a fundamental barrier.
It is a great game, but could do with a complete overhaul of the network
play and a good deal of tuning. The Mac port did some of the latter but
no (negative?) work on the former.
