Hy again. Ihave had some free-time now so I have tried it. For the moment
it is only a graphical debugger so why use it? Why do not use ddd ?

DDD is a good VisualDebugger, with only a “bug”: it requires Motif (or
lesstif). I love it and it works very well. I have debug all my program
with ddd, but I have not tried it with a ptrhead program.

In my experience with DDD, it runs very slowly. Code medic is a lot smaller
and faster.

Well, I don’t think you need to do this, at least not all of it. I
already have functions for drawing lines, Bezier curves, and polygons
available, which I am willing to place under GPL or some other free
software license.

BTW, where do I upload contributions for SDL?

Go ahead and send them to me, via e-mail.
I’m in the middle of a large restructuring of SDL, so it may be a little
bit before your contribution is included in the main distribution.

Thanks for your patience!

What do you mean with these? I’m starting in develop some games in SDL and
I every day get CVS’s files. I want to know if I can continue to
program my software or stop until the next release.
tnx

where I can get?

bloccarsi. On Wed, 22 Sep 1999, Kris Arndt wrote:

I think Sam means contributions to the SDL code tree. And I trust that he
won’t do anything that will break the API, and any of the changes he makes
will be primarily internal only, and have little or no impact on code we
that we have today. (Right, Sam? Is that so? I hope so!)

That’s right!

It won’t change your building of SDL software, it will just make it a
lot easier to build SDL proper. No worries. :)> On Thu, 23 Sep 1999, Sam Lantinga wrote:

Rather than uploading them as a contribution to the core SDL library,
how about releasing them as a library layered above SDL, like Loki
has done with the MPEG and MJPEG libraries. I would find a library
like yours very useful in some programs, but not in others, so
seeing it packaged as a separate component would be great.

Similarly, it would be nice to see “standard” libraries for font
rendering and image I/O layered above SDL. Unfortunately I’m still
too much of an SDL newbie to start on such a project.

Cheers,
Nat.

There is a nice imglib library in the example archive which loads all
sorts of image types. See the Makefile on how to enable various
formats.

There is also an example of using FreeType for truetype font rendering.
Be careful using Freetype with commercial products, as there has
recently been patent issues with it.–
