Persisent SDL window contents

Hi

I am working at debugging an SDL-utilizing app under X11 Linux. The problem I
have is that the contents of the SDL window dissappear while I am executing
code inside of gdb - is there any way to keep te SDL window’s contents
persistent while debugging, so that you can observe SDL graphics output as
you debug?

The problem I am having is that I alter variables to change program behaviour
in GDB but I cannot observe the results in the SDL window - once I have
alt-tabbed out of the SDL window to use GDB, alt-tabbing back to the SDL
window only shows black.

Thanks!–

SDL uses backing store if it’s available. See line 846 in SDL_x11video.c
It sounds like your X server doesn’t provide backing store.
