Playing WAVs

Ive been following the examples on the site as best as possible trying to
play a wav file, but it just simply doesnt work. There are no error messages,
no problems with my sound setup, and so i cant explain this at all. Could
someone post the most minimal of code needed to play a wav file of know
frequency etc. where threading etc is unused.

Thanks

http://www.lokigames.com/~overcode/lgp/lgp.pdf has some example code in
chapter 4.
