Ports in the works

Ports of Simple DirectMedia Layer to other platforms:

MacOS -- barely started
GGI -- barely started

Ports of other demos and applications to Simple DirectMedia Layer:

Crystal Space -- mostly done, but slow.. investigating
HElliZER demo -- works on Linux, data file problems on Win32

Example libraries in the works:

flicplayer -- written by Jasper Berlijn
libnetapi.a -- UDP, TCP general network layer for Linux/BeOS/Win32

Whew.

Hi,

Here are the sources of the flxplayer. Plays all flx files I have without
any problems. But there will be some flic files that have problems…

Program tested on Linux and solaris.

grt,

Hi, just did some tests in win95… Found out that I needed to call fopen
with “rb” instead of “r”. (Very wierd loading problem occoured without it)
Also win95 has no getopts. ;(.

Sorry for this inconvience.

Anyway, I just tested SDL with a new cross compiler linux->mingw32…
Using egcs 1.0.3 as base compiler. It works, only the win-dib has a
function (allaca) that wasn’t in the library and stdin, stoud had some
problems.

Hey, your flxplayer with just a couple of mods is now included in the
SDL-demos archive.

No worries. Do you want write access to the CVS archive so you can
update the version in the demo archive?
I’m just testing a little bit with CVS. (I’ve never worked with it, always
used a good backmechanism

Where did you get/build this new cross-compiler? I need to make one
myself…
I build it myself.

I’m working on a webpage about it, i’ll get it asap online. There were a
few “problems” during the build sequeence… Also the
mailingl-list-archives on cygnus has some information about it.

Hey, could you grab the latest SDL snapshots and send me the changes
(diff format) to get flxplay working on Win32?
It’s included as attachement…

BTW, thanks for the information on the cross-compilers. I went hog wild
and now SDL works great with the new egcs compiler.
Grin, at this moment I’ve got a cross compiler to win32 on a sparc
solaris system…

Don’t care ware…

Something like: “you can do with it what you want to do with it. But if
your cola vaporises you can’t sue me. But if you make changes to the code
you can always send to diffs to me”

Hey, what are the copying terms of your flxplay program?
GNUware? FreeWare? ShareWare?
