Posting Game Programmer Positions?

How do people feel about me posting “Game Programmer Wanted” ads to
the SDL mailing list? I have a couple that people want me to pass on
to qualified individuals and many of you come to mind.

Bring them on. Depending on how compensated I am in 6mths, I may be
interested in a career change.–

I won’t mind, I think that many of the people here might benefit from
that.–

Just make sure there’s also something for all the europeans on this list
(small question: are we in the majority here?).

Not only “game” programmers. Post everthing you have.
Maybe there is something interesting

Go for it. I need a job when I graduate this year anyways.

Sorry this is OT, but I thought it was interesting. In response to
Andreas’ question:

Just make sure there’s also something for all the europeans on this list
(small question: are we in the majority here?).

I did a quick query of all the people who looked at those 5 SDL logo
images over the past 24 hours and grouped them by country. Not exactly
a scientific random-sampling of SDL users, but neat anyway:

Count Domain Country

1 .ac Ascension Island
5 .at Austria
2 .au Australia
1 .be Belgium
2 .br Brazil
4 .ca Canada
5 .ch Switzerland
1 .cl Chile

6 .se Sweden
4 .uk United Kingdom

I think it would be a good idea to have a ‘root’ post titled “Job
Postings” and have any job postings to the list continue that thread. It
wouldn’t clutter up the list and would be easy to ignore or locate as
desired. The replies would be to the top-level post unless they were
specifically modifying a subsequent post. The idea could be extended to
have any companys interested in posting post a reply to the “Job
Posting” thread with their company name as the subject and available
positions as replies to /that/…

Okie. I’m done, now
