Prereleases, bug fix requests?

I’m getting ready to build releases of SDL 1.2.4 and the SDL helper libs.

Here are PRERELEASE source archives:
http://www.libsdl.org/cvs/SDL-1.2.tar.gz
http://www.libsdl.org/cvs/SDL_image-1.2.2.tar.gz
http://www.libsdl.org/cvs/SDL_mixer-1.2.3.tar.gz
http://www.libsdl.org/cvs/SDL_net-1.2.4.tar.gz
http://www.libsdl.org/cvs/SDL_ttf-2.0.5.tar.gz

Please let me know in the next day or two if there are any outstanding
bugs on any platform.

Also, I recently found that BeOS doesn’t run on my new computer at all,
so I can no longer build BeOS binaries. Any volunteers for BeOS builds?

Thanks,
-Sam Lantinga, Software Engineer, Blizzard Entertainment

I will build BeOS binaries.

Did that weird SDL_Mixer deadlock bug ever get fixed?

(David Hedbor noticed it in his SDL/SDL_mixer port to the Zaurus, and I had
been noticing it happening on my desktop, but wasn’t sure what was causing it.)

I’ll build and test amiga binaries as soon as possibile (maybe I can’t test
them till the weekend), there is a chance that Amiga will be added to the
list of the officially supported platforms with this release?

If you can get three other people to independently test a variety of SDL
applications on the Amiga, sure!

(BTW, that goes for QNX, Atari, and any other platform that is being ported to)

Hi Sam!
Could you post a small list of neccessary test-tools or programs that
should build and run perfectly, so we can say the new release is (probably

  • there’s always a bug…) ok (I mean more stuff than the examples)?
    Cheers,

Just try any SDL program that you work on or like to use.
If you know of a particular bug, try to reproduce it with the CVS snapshot.

As for QNX RtP, latest CVS snapshot of SDL was test by people from QNX
Russian Portal Team (http://qnx.org.ru ) including me ;-), there are no
critical bugs found. But work on port to QNX at the begin of the long way,
because QSSL do the new release QNX RtP 6.2 (available soon, I suppose), and
they changes the Photon API. In unofficial QNX RtP 6.2-beta-2 (for beta
testers) SDL compiles without errors but Overlay code doesn’t work at all
(in 6.1 works, tested with mplayer).
I will try to fix SDL code before QNX RtP 6.2 is out. Still no support for
HWSURFACE (for 6.1 and 6.2). Palette code on 6.2 doesn’t works correctly (on
6.1 works fine).

There are tons of changes needed for support SDL/QNX in up-to-date form
I’ll do all that I can ;-)–
Feci quod potui feciant meliora potentes.

Tried to build SDL_image on current cygwin and went into some problems.
gcc didn’t find jpeglib.h in /usr/include. Worked after adding it to the end
of CFLAGS, strange.
dlltool didn’t export any symbols out of the .o files. Removing
"–exclude-symbols …" and adding --include-all-symbols (or so) in libtool
helped. Its a very late cygwin or is just libtool too old?

Stephan

PS: Are there any plans to support a native cygwin-target without mingw32?Am Montag 08 April 2002 21:18 schrieb Sam Lantinga:
