Problem with sld audio in redhat null beta

I cant get sdl audio with any application under kde 3.0.3 shippend with
Redhat null beta. Should I recompile sdl_mixer to use arts or something?–

If you build SDL from source, does that fix your problem?
Are you running the SDL applications from the command line? If so, is it
showing any error messages?
