Progress on SDL2?

I apologize if this question is asked a lot (I couldn’t find an answer
anywhere), and if this is the wrong place for this (I’ve never used a
mailing list before; how exciting!).

What is the progress on SDL2? How much more has to be done before release?
Is there anywhere I can go to see a list of what needs to be done for SDL2?
I’d like to help out, if that’s possible.
