Lately I’ve been receiving multiple copies of the same SDL emails, separated
by hours or even days. I also get replies to emails before receiving the
email being replied to. Is it the SDL mailing list, or my ISP mail server
causing it? Anyone else experiencing this problem?

I have no problems with duplicate emails on the
SDL Mailinglist. And when in a very few times
i get the same email more than once i check
the archives and see the sender has hit Send
more than once.
I also get replies to emails before
receiving the email being replied to.
This could be normal, as you never know in what
order the EMails are deliviered.
Sometimes I receive emails in the wrong order, but never duplicated.

I’ve also had similar situations with friends who use Outlook. Pretty
much everything they send me is duplicated. It’s not consistent between
Outlook users but there are some who do it consistently.

This generally results when a mail server incorrectly reports an error
when it did correctly receive the message. The receiving mail server
delivers the message as normal, but the sender thinks it has not, so it
waits a bit (it can wait days) and then it tries again - which is
exactly what it is supposed to do. I have seen this recently as well,
only with with the interaction of mailman lists and exchange/outlook.
Looks like an exchange/outlook bug (or “feature”).
This, however, really is beyond the scope of this list, so I’ll shut up
now. Hope you all can fix your problem(s).On Thu, Aug 17, 2006 at 07:32:08AM -0700, Alan Wolfe wrote:
